The Children's Clinic has at the moment one resident cranial osteopath who is donating her time and efforts to the Clinic. Cranial osteopathy is a refined osteopathic treatment using gentle manipulative pressure to relieve strains and stresses throughout the body, including the head. It's proved to be very effective in treating such problems as colic, birth trauma, behavioural problems such as attention deficit and hyperactivity, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and global disfunction disorder. It is widely recommended for babies and children. Birth trauma can lead to a colicky baby, a toddler with tantrums, a disruptive and inattentive pupil, a truanting teenager and then a disfunctional adult. If you treat the initial problem, you can stop the cycle before it takes hold and society as a whole will benefit.
The Clinic has a fully registered and qualified Homeopath who is available for treatments and consultations. We are increasingly concerned about the amount of drugs being prescribed to young children and homeopathy offers beneficial treatments for all sorts of childhood disorders such as asthma and chest complaints, sinus and adenoidal problems, digestive disorders and all kinds of recurring infections without the use of drugs. Homeopathy treats the child as a whole and is a safe and effective system of medicine which stimulates the body's natural healing ability, strengthening the immune system with no side effects.
Our new acupuncturist, Julia Biggs, began working at the Clinic at the beginning of March 2008.
